Now this is in red just to highlite it. Many of us here at AAV do not know this. :)

The use of the AA designator is totally optional to you. It makes us different to VATSIM controllers from the other AAL VA's. If you care to have them know. Also you may put in your FP remarks your are AAvirtual.com

Hehehe....

Although, I did not know that if we used AA in our callsign that made us stand out as AAVirtual to controllers and everyone else (apart from the rest)...

Thanks Wayne; gonna have to start using AA314 from now on...

Actually we use the AA callsign because of a gentleman's agreement between AAV and that other VA. As a number of you know there were several disputes online because AVA pilots thought they owner a specific callsign. They arrived at this erroneous conclusion because they always fly using their pilot number instead of the actual flight number. Thus when someone is making a flight whose flight number happens to be the same as an online AVA pilot he feels that person has taken his callsign.

The gentleman's agreement made a long time ago between the two VA's was that AAV would us AAxxxx for our callsigns. There is a thread that discusses this but I can't find it now.

Don't worry, we'll put you in for a virtual raise once you pass your next checkride. Just multiply your current rate times 75% and you'll know your new salary.
