I'm somewhat of a Formula 1 guy myself. Last year I coughed up the BIG bucks and got weekend tickets to the F1 race in Austin. Not only did I enjoy seeing those amazing cars, I really enjoyed the Porche and Ferrari preliminary races as well.
I'm not so pissed off about the green, energy efficient engines as you but I really don't see the point. Seems to be using a lot of technology just for the sake of using technology. They are spending multi-millions of dollars on those cars so who cares if they use more fuel.
And by the way, you are absolutely correct. Took my ear plugs to the race and never once needed them, and I was sitting only about 10 rows up from the track.
