WOW, Thanks Mike. An added note here these are flights from the 1945, 1951, 1959 AA timetables. These are the major East Coast to West Coast routes via the cities they served back then. Some of the airfields in those cities are not what they are now so the ICAO's are different. Some have had the modern airfields put in place as those original airfields are no longer there.
I am still working on the more close in routes to more cities within the states.

Thanks Wayne and Mike!
Very good job.
I love the history and if it possible I want to know more about those routes and your investigation: Where you found it, how long it took to get them, types of aircraft that flew ...

Panagiotis,
Do you want to help us add the MD11 routes? It's a matter of typing the data from old timetables into a text file for me to upload.

Omar,
The timetables come from here: http://www.timetableimages.com/ttimages/aa.htm

If you want to help, the format I need the data in is this:

Format:
The format has these elements all separated by commas: Flight number, departure city, departure city ICAO code, arrival city, arrival city ICAO code, departure time (24 hour time), arrival time (24 hour time), flight time (should equal arrival time minus departure time), equipment ICAO code, distance

A completed entry looks like this:
AA1, New York, KJFK, Los Angeles, KLAX, 09:00, 12:40, 6:40, 762, 2,472mi

If you don't know the duration or distance, that's OK, I can generate those quickly with my personal tools. Just leave them out.

One last note. Some parts of this thread talk about using timetables without departure or arrival times. I don't think we should load those, but that's just my opinion and you all could out-vote me if you like.

I cannot find one also. There may not be any such thing around on the net available anymore. E-bay?

Panagiotis Zervoulias wrote:Well I found a retro timetable on eBay that maybe has the MD-11 flights. And I'm sure that you're talking about the same timetable Mr. Pierce. But should I buy it? And if it hasn't got the information I need?
It was a tounge-in-cheek thought, I am not suggeting you buy anything, whoa, no way, no how. If it doesn't have what you want then you own a timetable to nowhere.
For the most part my motto on e-bay "let the buyer beware", " A fool and his money are waiting to be parted", "A sucker born everyminute"...
