No difficulty determining exactly how many years old he is. Just straight year math* - no worry about BB or AB (that's Before/After Birthday for those who have not read the Pilot's Handbook Addendum XIV on approved abbreviations).
* I was pretty good at year math for my bd (note lower case - not the same as BD) until 2000 rolled in and I had to start borrowing from the century.
