Theme flight to Rick's - Play it again Sam

This month's Theme Flight was supposed to be last month's, but I got lazy and didn't post it. It was for Rick S.

The movie came out January 24th in 1943. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casablanca_(film)

There is a "Cafe Rick's Americano" closer to home in Tulsa OK.

Anyway I used my 747 for this one in P3DV5.

I started at 15:15 in the afternoon and arrive just after 18:30, in the dark. Real world weather used. It was over cast with some clouds the whole way.

As the movie takes place in Paris and Casablanca, the flight is based on those places.

This flight is open this month to all pilots, See the NOTAM for instructions.

The usual pictures follow; the Pushback, climb out, cruise, landing, deplaning and unloading.

I started trying to fly this in the Lockheed Electra 10/12. I was trying to be faithful to the movie. What a mistake! I need a good 2 hours of training in the Electra before attempting a stormy departure from Paris.

I tried again today in my PMDG 777. Weather was worse, but equipment and pilot training was MUCH better.

Thanks for posting Mike. I was going to use my 777, a toss of the virtual coin (two sided) changed that.
I have both P3DV4.5 and 5.1, as the aircraft are not in both yet.
It wasn't snowing when I did it, just cloudy.
I had also thought of the L049 but did not want to watch the screen @ 150mph for longer than the usual 2 hour flight
Your first choice would have been.. well you still would be flying.

Very nice theme flight, thanks much for organizing!

I managed to snap only couple of photos, first one high above Malaga, with sun setting, and the other one couple of minutes later, with the Gibraltar at the right... I was not alone landing at GMMN, two Royal Air Maroc vatsim flights were also there.
